How Does the Lodavo Weekly Draw Work?
Saving money rarely comes with a jolt of excitement. The Lodavo weekly draw is built to change that: as you save in your own bank account, you earn tickets for a free weekly cash draw, and someone wins at least $100 every single week. Match all seven numbers and you win the $10,000 jackpot. Your money never leaves your account, and it’s always free to play. Here’s exactly how it works.
How does the Lodavo weekly draw work?
The loop is the same every week. You save in your own bank account, Lodavo turns your balance into draw tickets, and you pick seven numbers from 0 to 99. One winning number is revealed each night at 8:00 PM ET from Monday to Sunday, and when all seven are out, the tickets with the most matches win.
- Save. Connect a Canadian bank account. Lodavo reads your balance, and only your balance, to work out your tickets.
- Play. Pick your seven numbers, or let the app choose them for you.
- Win. The more winning numbers your ticket matches, the better you place.
How do you earn tickets for the weekly draw?
You earn tickets by saving. For every $25 in your total linked bank balance you get one ticket, rounded down to the nearest $25 and capped at 1,000 tickets a week. Lodavo snapshots your balance every Sunday at 8:00 PM ET, and that sets your tickets for the week ahead. It’s your balance that counts, not how much you deposited, so money you’ve already put aside keeps earning tickets week after week.
| Total saved in your linked account | Tickets that week |
|---|---|
| $25 | 1 |
| $100 | 4 |
| $500 | 20 |
| $2,500 | 100 |
| $25,000 or more | 1,000 (the weekly max) |
Saving is the main way in, but not the only one. You can top up your tickets with a few in-app actions:
- Refer a friend. When someone signs up with your code and connects a bank account, you both earn bonus tickets.
- Keep a daily streak. Take the daily spin and read the daily savings tip to keep your streak going and pick up bonus tickets.
- Report a bug. Flag something that isn’t working and we may award bonus tickets for the heads-up.
- Explore partner offers. Optionally sign up for a handpicked financial product in the app for bonus tickets. This one is always optional.
Every method counts toward the same 1,000-ticket weekly limit. No purchase is necessary; a free alternate method of entry by mail is set out in the contest rules.
When does the draw happen? The weekly timeline
Each draw runs Sunday to Sunday on Eastern Time. A new week opens at 8:00 PM ET every Sunday, when your balance is snapshotted into tickets and a fresh set of seven winning numbers is locked in. From Monday through Sunday, one of those numbers is revealed each night at 8:00 PM ET, so the result builds a little every day instead of landing all at once.
| When (8:00 PM ET) | What happens |
|---|---|
| Sunday | New week starts. Your balance becomes tickets, and the seven winning numbers are locked in before anyone picks. |
| Monday | First winning number revealed |
| Tuesday | Second number revealed |
| Wednesday | Third number revealed |
| Thursday | Fourth number revealed |
| Friday | Fifth number revealed |
| Saturday | Sixth number revealed |
| Sunday | Seventh and final number revealed, and the week’s winner is decided. |
You can set your numbers any time before the first one drops on Monday evening; leave a ticket unpicked and the app fills it in for you. Watch the numbers land on the winning numbers page, updated right after each nightly reveal.
What can you win? At least $100 every week, and a $10,000 jackpot
For now, two prizes are on the table each week. A guaranteed prize of at least $100 always goes to a player, so there’s a winner every week no matter what. And if a single ticket matches all seven winning numbers, that player wins the $10,000 jackpot. The two don’t stack: on a jackpot week, the $10,000 takes the place of the $100.
| Prize | Amount (CAD) | How it’s won |
|---|---|---|
| Weekly guaranteed prize | $100 | Goes to the ticket with the most matching numbers. |
| Jackpot | $10,000 | Match all seven winning numbers on one ticket. |
There’s always a winner because the guaranteed prize doesn’t need a perfect ticket. It goes to the ticket with the most matches that week, and Lodavo has paid one out every week since launch.
How are winners chosen?
After the seventh number is revealed on Sunday, Lodavo ranks every ticket by how many winning numbers it matched. The ticket with the most matches wins the guaranteed prize; if several tie for the top, one is picked at random from the tied tickets. Any ticket that matches all seven takes the jackpot.
A match is one of your numbers landing on a winning number, in any order. Matching all seven is genuinely hard: the odds of a single ticket hitting all seven of 100 possible numbers are about 1 in 16 billion, which is why the jackpot only pays on a perfect week. The guaranteed prize is the opposite, and this is the part worth remembering: the more you save, the more tickets you hold, and the better your chances of being the one who wins.
Is the Lodavo draw provably fair?
Yes, and you don’t have to take our word for it. Before anyone picks a single number, the week’s seven winning numbers are generated, locked, and published as a cryptographic fingerprint (a SHA-256 hash). Because that fingerprint is public before the pick window opens, the numbers can’t be swapped later to dodge a winner.
The fingerprint is a one-way hash of the winning numbers plus a secret key: it proves the numbers are fixed without revealing them. Once all seven are revealed, Lodavo publishes the key, so anyone can run the same SHA-256 calculation and confirm the numbers match the fingerprint posted days earlier. You can check any past draw yourself on the provably fair page.
How and when do winners get paid?
Winners are notified within two business days of the week ending, in the app and by email. To claim, you answer a quick math skill-testing question, sign a short declaration, and confirm where to send the money. Prizes go out by Interac e-Transfer or direct bank transfer to your Canadian account, within seven business days of submitting your details.
The skill-testing question is basic arithmetic, something like 10 x 6 + 1 - 9, with a few minutes on the clock and no calculator. It’s the standard step that keeps a random-draw contest legal under the Competition Bureau’s rules (opens in a new tab), which is why every legitimate contest in Canada has one.
How the weekly draw connects to saving
The draw isn’t really the point on its own. It’s there to make saving feel worth doing this week, not just someday, which is a big part of why saving money is so hard: the payoff is usually too far away to feel. Every $25 you keep saved is another ticket, so you get something out of a far-off goal this week.
And you risk nothing to take part. Your savings stay in your own bank account the whole time, earning whatever interest they already earn, and entering costs nothing. That’s the line between prize-linked savings and gambling: you keep every dollar, win or lose. For the full picture, start with our guide to prize-linked savings in Canada.
Pick your seven numbers and you’re in. Download Lodavo free on the Apple App Store (opens in a new tab) or Google Play Store (opens in a new tab), and see how many you match this week.
Terms and conditions apply. No purchase necessary (alternate method of entry available). Skill-testing question required. Open to legal residents of Canada who are the age of majority. Odds depend on the number of eligible entries received. Full rules and odds at our contest rules.
