OFFICIAL RULES
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. OPEN TO LEGAL RESIDENTS OF CANADA WHO HAVE REACHED THE AGE OF MAJORITY IN THEIR PROVINCE OR TERRITORY OF RESIDENCE. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED.
The Lodavo Weekly Savings Contest (the "Contest") is sponsored by Lodavo Inc. (the "Sponsor").
The Contest begins on the date the Lodavo mobile application (the "App") launches on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store (the "Start Date") and continues with successive weekly contest periods (each a "Weekly Period") until terminated by the Sponsor.
Each Weekly Period begins at 8:01 p.m. Eastern Time ("ET") on Sunday and ends at 8:00 p.m. ET the following Sunday. The first Weekly Period will begin at 8:01 p.m. ET on the first Sunday following the Start Date.
The Sponsor reserves the right to modify, suspend, or terminate the Contest at any time for any reason.
Open to legal residents of Canada who have reached the age of majority in their province or territory of residence at the time of entry. Employees, officers, and directors of the Sponsor and their immediate family members (spouse, parents, children, siblings) and household members (whether related or not) are not eligible. By entering, each participant agrees to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of the Sponsor, which are final.
To be eligible to win, App users must maintain their account in good standing. An account is not in good standing if it has been closed, suspended, or flagged for fraudulent activity, abuse, or violation of Lodavo's Terms of Service. Eligibility requirements must be satisfied at the time of entry and at the time of winner selection and prize award, including residency, age, and account in good standing.
There are two ways to enter. Maximum 100 entries per person per Weekly Period, regardless of entry method. Each person is limited to one Lodavo account. Use of multiple accounts, email addresses, phone numbers, or devices to circumvent this limit is prohibited.
Download the App (available on iOS and Android) and earn entries through the following methods:
(a) Savings-Based Entries: Link a valid Canadian savings or checking account via Plaid. Receive 1 entry for every $25 CAD in your total linked account balance(s), calculated based on a balance snapshot taken by the Sponsor at 8:01 p.m. ET on Sunday of each Weekly Period. Balances are rounded down (e.g., $74 = 2 entries, not 3). Depositing funds solely to earn entries with the intent to immediately withdraw such funds is prohibited and may result in disqualification.
(b) Waitlist Bonus Entries: Available only to participants who joined the official waitlist prior to the Start Date. Upon downloading the App, completing account registration, and successfully linking a bank account, waitlist members will receive progressive weekly bonus entries for their first four weeks of App usage: 10 bonus entries in Week 1, 20 bonus entries in Week 2, 30 bonus entries in Week 3, and 40 bonus entries in Week 4, for a total of up to 100 bonus entries. To receive bonus entries for a given week, the participant's account must remain active and in good standing.
(c) Referral Entries: Earn 10 entries when a person you refer uses your unique referral link or code, downloads the App, completes account registration, and links a valid bank account—all within 14 days of using your referral link. Referrals must be new Lodavo users and meet all eligibility requirements. Self-referrals are prohibited.
(d) Social Media Entries: Earn 10 entries per platform for following the Sponsor's official accounts on Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, or other platforms specified in the App. Follow in-app instructions to verify.
(e) In-App Bonus Entries: The Sponsor may offer bonus entries for completing activities within the App (e.g., financial literacy modules, feature engagement). Activities, entry values, and availability will be communicated in the App.
(f) Partner Offer Entries: Earn entries by signing up for third-party products or services (including but not limited to financial products) through promotional offers presented in the App. Entry values will be specified at the time of offer. You must complete the sign-up process and may need to meet additional third-party eligibility criteria. The Sponsor is not responsible for third-party products or services. Partner offer entries are optional and not required to participate. Alternate method of entry provides equivalent odds without any purchase.
(g) Discretionary Bonus Entries: The Sponsor may, in its sole discretion, award bonus entries to participants for any reason, including but not limited to resolving customer service issues, compensating for technical errors, or recognizing participant engagement. Discretionary bonus entries are not guaranteed and are awarded on a case-by-case basis at the Sponsor's discretion.
Entries earned through any method (including savings-based entries, referrals, bonuses, or other activities) are awarded for the Weekly Period during which they are earned, based on when the qualifying activity is completed or verified by the Sponsor's systems.
The Sponsor reserves the right to verify all entries and may request documentation to confirm linked accounts, balances, referrals, and other entry-earning activities. The Sponsor reserves the right to add, remove, or modify entry methods, entry values, and the maximum entry limit at any time. Current entry methods are displayed in the App and at www.lodavo.ca/contest-rules. Any change to entry methods, entry values, caps, or prizing applies only to Weekly Periods that begin after the change is posted; changes won’t affect a Weekly Period already in progress.
To enter without using the App or linking a bank account, hand-print or handwrite on a single 8.5" x 11" sheet of paper: your full name, complete mailing address (including postal code), telephone number (including area code), email address, and date of birth. Include a handwritten essay of at least 50 words on the topic: "How would you use savings to improve your financial future?"
Mail your completed entry in a stamped envelope to:
Lodavo Weekly Savings Contest
1250 Guy Street, Suite 600
Montreal, QC H3H 2T4
Limit one hundred (100) mail-in entries per person per Weekly Period. Each mail-in entry must be mailed in a separate stamped envelope with the required handwritten essay. Multiple entries in a single envelope will not be accepted. Each qualifying mail-in entry receives one (1) entry into the draw for the Weekly Period during which it is received by the Sponsor. To be eligible for a specific Weekly Period, mail-in entries must be received (not postmarked) by the Sponsor no later than 8:00 p.m. ET on the Sunday of that Weekly Period. Mail-in entries received after 8:00 p.m. ET on Sunday will be entered into the following Weekly Period. Repeated, incomplete, or incorrect entries will be void. No script, macro, robotic or other program-assisted, mechanically reproduced, bulk or mass entries are permitted. To be considered an entry via this method, each entry must be unique and original to the Entrant. Entries become the property of the Sponsor and will not be returned. The Sponsor is not responsible for late, lost, misdirected, illegible, incomplete, or postage-due mail.
Each entry consists of seven (7) numbers from 0 to 99, inclusive. No duplicate numbers are permitted on a single entry (e.g., you cannot select "5" twice on the same entry). You may use the same number(s) across multiple entries. However, an entrant may not have multiple entries with the identical seven-number combination within the same Weekly Period. Each of an entrant's entries for a given Weekly Period must have at least one different number from their other entries. The Sponsor's automated systems will prevent creation of duplicate number combinations when entrants manually select numbers or when numbers are automatically assigned.
App users may manually select valid numbers for each entry via the App, or have numbers randomly assigned automatically. Mail-in entrants will have numbers randomly assigned by the Sponsor. The Sponsor will ensure that numbers assigned to a mail-in entrant do not duplicate that entrant’s other seven-number combinations for the same Weekly Period.
The following conduct is prohibited and will result in disqualification of all entries and potential account closure:
• Using bots, scripts, macros, or other automated means to enter or earn entries
• Creating multiple accounts or using multiple identities
• Depositing funds into a linked account solely to earn entries with intent to immediately withdraw
• Tampering with the Contest, App, or Sponsor's systems
• Providing false information
• Sharing, selling, or transferring entries or accounts
• Any fraudulent, abusive, or unfair conduct
Any attempt to deliberately damage or undermine the Contest may be a violation of criminal and civil law. The Sponsor reserves the right to seek legal remedies and report violations to law enforcement. The Sponsor may disqualify any participant who violates these rules or engages in conduct deemed improper or adverse to the Contest's operation and may preclude such participant from future contests and promotions.
For each Weekly Period, seven (7) winning numbers (each an integer from 0 to 99) will be randomly selected using a random number generator ("RNG"). Winning numbers are generated using a cryptographically secure RNG and logged (timestamp + hash). An audit log is maintained; hashes may be published or shared for verification. One number will be selected each day from Monday through Sunday at 8:00 p.m. ET. Each of the seven winning numbers selected in a Weekly Period will be unique (no number will be selected more than once per week).
Winning numbers will be published in the App and at www.lodavo.ca/contest-results shortly after each daily draw. All seven (7) winning numbers for the Weekly Period will be published shortly after each Weekly Period.
After all seven winning numbers are drawn for a Weekly Period, the Sponsor will identify the entry or entries with the highest number of matches. A "match" occurs when a number on an entry corresponds to a winning number, regardless of order.
• If one (1) entry has the highest number of matches, the holder of that entry is the selected entrant.
• If multiple entries tie for the highest number of matches, one entry will be randomly selected from among all tied entries.
• If one person holds multiple entries that tie for the highest matches, each of that person's tied entries is included in the random draw.
Each selected entrant is a potential winner only, pending verification and compliance with Sections 7 and 8.
One (1) Weekly Guaranteed Prize of $100 CAD will be awarded per Weekly Period to the selected entrant with the highest number of matches, subject to Section 7.2.
One (1) Jackpot Prize of $10,000 CAD will be awarded per Weekly Period if one or more entries match all seven (7) winning numbers (7/7 matches).
If multiple entries match 7/7, all persons holding such entries will be notified as selected entrants and must individually complete all prize claim requirements in Section 9. The Jackpot Prize will be divided equally among all persons who successfully complete the prize claim requirements (each an "Eligible Winner"), with each share rounded down to the nearest cent. If all selected entrants fail to complete the requirements, the Jackpot Prize is forfeited and the Weekly Guaranteed Prize will be awarded to an alternate winner as described in Section 10.
If the Jackpot Prize is awarded in any Weekly Period, the Weekly Guaranteed Prize will not be awarded for that Weekly Period.
Approximate Retail Value (ARV): Weekly Guaranteed Prize: $100 CAD; Jackpot Prize: $10,000 CAD (or proportionate share).
Odds of winning depend on the total number of entries, the number of entries per participant, and the distribution of numbers selected. Approximate odds of a single entry matching 7/7 winning numbers: 1 in 14,887,031,544. An individual with the maximum 100 entries has approximate odds of 1 in 148,870,222 of matching 7/7.
Prizes will be awarded by electronic funds transfer (EFT) or Interac e-Transfer to the winner's designated Canadian bank account. Winners will be required to provide valid Canadian banking information (institution number, transit number, and account number) or email address for Interac e-Transfer after being confirmed as a winner and completing all prize claim requirements.
Prizes are non-transferable, non-assignable, and have no cash surrender value except as awarded. No prize substitution permitted except by Sponsor, who may substitute a prize of equal or greater value. Winners are solely responsible for all applicable federal, provincial, territorial, and local taxes, if any. An individual may win in multiple Weekly Periods; there is no limit on the number of Weekly Periods in which a person may win.
Selected entrants will be notified within two (2) business days after the conclusion of the applicable Weekly Period. App users will be notified via in-app notification, email, and/or push notification. Mail-in entrants will be contacted via telephone and/or email provided in their mail-in entry.
The Sponsor is not responsible for failed, delayed, or misdirected notifications due to incorrect contact information, spam filters, privacy settings, technical issues, or other factors beyond the Sponsor's control.
Selected entrants must respond and complete all prize claim requirements within five (5) calendar days of notification (the "Response Deadline") or the prize will be forfeited.
To claim a prize, each selected entrant must, within the Response Deadline:
(a) Skill-Testing Question: Correctly answer, without assistance of any kind (mechanical, electronic, or from others), a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question administered via the App (for App users) or by telephone/email (for mail-in entrants). The question will involve basic arithmetic operations applied to four numbers (none exceeding 10), following order of operations. Example: 10 × 6 + 1 - 9 = ? The selected entrant must answer within five (5) minutes from when the question is presented. For App users, the question will be displayed with a visible countdown timer. Use of calculators or any assistance is prohibited. Only one attempt is permitted. Failure to correctly answer the Skill-Testing Question will result in disqualification and forfeiture of the prize. If disqualified, all of that entrant's entries for that Weekly Period will be excluded from alternate winner selection for that prize.
(b) Declaration and Release: Sign and return a Declaration and Release form provided by the Sponsor within the Response Deadline. The Release requires the selected entrant to:
• Confirm compliance with these Official Rules and eligibility requirements
• Accept the prize as awarded
• Release the Released Parties from any and all liability in connection with the Contest, participation, and prize acceptance/use
• Consent to the Sponsor's use of their first name, last initial, city and province of residence, photograph, image, video, likeness, biographical information, prize information, and statements about the Contest for publicity and marketing purposes in any and all media (whether now known or later developed) without further compensation, notification, or permission, except where prohibited by law
(c) Verification: The Sponsor reserves the right to request proof of identity, age, residency, account ownership, linked account balances, or any other information to verify eligibility and compliance. Failure to provide requested information within a reasonable timeframe may result in disqualification.
(d) Banking Information: Provide valid Canadian banking information (institution number, transit number, and account number) for electronic funds transfer, or an email address for Interac e-Transfer, as requested by the Sponsor.
Failure to satisfy any of these requirements within the Response Deadline will result in disqualification and forfeiture of the prize.
(e) Optional Promotional Participation: Winners may be invited to provide additional promotional materials including video testimonials, written testimonials, or photographs for marketing use. Participation in such additional promotional activities is voluntary and not required for prize eligibility. Winners who choose to participate in optional promotional activities grant the Sponsor the rights described in Section 9(b) for such additional materials.
If a selected entrant is disqualified, fails to correctly answer the Skill-Testing Question, or otherwise forfeits a prize, the Sponsor will select an alternate winner from among the remaining eligible entries for that Weekly Period using the same process described in Section 6 (highest number of matches), except that all entries held by any disqualified entrant(s) will be excluded.
For the Weekly Guaranteed Prize ($100 CAD): The Sponsor will continue to select alternate winners until an eligible winner is confirmed or until all eligible entries for that Weekly Period have been exhausted. The Sponsor is not responsible for failed delivery of notifications, incomplete contact information, or entrants' failure to respond within required timeframes.
For the Jackpot Prize ($10,000 CAD): If the only entry or entries matching 7/7 are held by disqualified entrant(s), or if no eligible Jackpot winner can be confirmed, the Jackpot Prize will not be awarded for that Weekly Period. In such case, the Weekly Guaranteed Prize of $100 CAD will be awarded using the process described above, selecting from entries with the next-highest number of matches.
By entering, each participant agrees to release and hold harmless the Released Parties from any and all liability, claims, or damages arising from participation in the Contest or prize acceptance, including but not limited to personal injury, death, or property damage.
The Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, illegible, misdirected, or postage-due mail; technical, hardware, software, or telecommunications failures; unauthorized human intervention; printing or other errors in Contest materials; or any other errors or problems in connection with the Contest. If the Contest cannot be run as planned due to technical failures, fraud, or other causes beyond the Sponsor's control that corrupt or affect the administration, security, or fairness of the Contest, the Sponsor may modify, suspend, or terminate the Contest.
All Contest decisions by the Sponsor are final and binding. The Sponsor will not engage in correspondence regarding such decisions. The Sponsor's database is the official record of entries received. In the event of any discrepancy between these Official Rules and any advertisements, app screens, emails, or other communications or materials relating to the Contest, these Official Rules control. If any provision of these Official Rules is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
Continued participation in the Contest following any modification to these Official Rules constitutes acceptance of the changes. Current rules are available at www.lodavo.ca/contest-rules.
By entering, participants consent to the collection, use, disclosure, and storage of their personal information by the Sponsor for Contest administration, including eligibility verification, entry processing, winner selection and notification, prize fulfillment, and publicity purposes. Personal information is also governed by the Sponsor's Privacy Policy at www.lodavo.ca/privacy-policy. Participation in the Contest does not require participants to consent to receiving marketing or promotional communications from the Sponsor. Participants may optionally choose to receive marketing communications; such consent may be provided or withdrawn at any time through account settings or by following unsubscribe instructions. Opting in or out of marketing does not affect Contest eligibility.
By submitting an entry, essay, testimonial, or other content, each participant grants the Sponsor a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, modify, and publish such content for any purpose related to the Contest or the Sponsor's business, in any media. Participants represent that their submissions are original, do not infringe third-party rights, and do not contain unlawful or inappropriate content.
These Official Rules are governed by the laws of the Province of Quebec and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflicts of law principles. Any disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Quebec.
A French version of these Official Rules is available at www.lodavo.ca/fr/regles-du-concours. In the event of any discrepancy, the version in the language chosen by the participant governs for that participant.
